On the road again

It feels like we're finally back on schedule! Sasha slept ALL NIGHT last night! It was the first time since we got back from Ohio and it made me SO happy! Now if I can just force myself to stop staying up so late, maybe I can get a good night sleep, too!

Next week, we hit the road again for yet another adventure! First, we're leaving Wednesday to go to Bavaria for a ski trip that my husband's office is doing. I've never been skiing, and I probably won't start next week. I'm mostly looking forward to seeing the Alps in winter and playing in the snow with Sasha. Oh, and hot tubs. I love me some hot tubs! Regan is all geared up to go snowboarding. It's been a very dry winter up here, so he and his friend haven't been able to go snowboarding at all like they did last year. Then, a few days later, we're going to leave our group in Bavaria and drive down to Venice, Italy to get on a cruise ship! That's right. We're headed on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise! INSANITY!!!

Sometimes I just have to take a step back and pinch myself. What kind of life am I living?? I never would have thought, not in a million years, that I'd be able to do HALF of what we've done while living in Europe! I've been working on my bucket list a lot lately and while searching the internet for inspiration, I came to the realization that we've done a lot of things that other people only get to dream about. It makes me feel ungrateful, really. I need to do a better job of appreciating our time here and really living in the moment instead of always looking ahead.

Anyway, I got off topic a little bit. Other than that CRAZY trip coming up, we don't have anything else planned for the near future! It will be nice to just stay home for a little while, I think. Traveling is SO fun (it's pretty much my favorite thing), but sometimes you just need to rest and rejuvenate!

Changing the topic completely now, I keep feeling like Sasha is SO CLOSE to talking, but he just can't spit the words out. His babbling has really changed in the past few weeks - it sounds totally different and there's a LOT more of it. He always tries to talk to me (and the cats) and he even seems frustrated that I don't understand him. He's still only saying a handful of "real" words, but I just keep feeling like one day, he's just going to explode with language! I'm so looking forward to that.

Nothing much has been going on this week, even though I feel like we've been really busy. We've gone somewhere every day, but it's just errands - nothing exciting. I guess what next week is for!

  1. Super JEALOUS!!! of your cruise. I know Ike and I just had a vacation but I seriously feel like we could use another. I feel the same way with Jackson. Like any day he is going to walk in the kitchen and say,"Mom, I want some milk." but instead he just says, "Maaaayaaaa, baaabbeeebba DADDDYYYY." So yea. Can't wait for talking.

  2. All Sasha wants to say anymore is "NO NO NO" over and over and over again -_- It's getting kind of old. But I'm trying to be patient! I know it's got to be hard to start from scratch when you were JUST about to start speaking a totally different language! And as for the cruise, I'm excited about it...but I'm nervous about it, too...and it makes me tired just thinking about it!
